Auckland International College (AIC) is a college that focuses on creating an interactive and engaging learning environment for the students. Each classroom is fitted with multimedia tools, smartboards and a webcam to allow teachers and students to engage in classroom activities. Parents or guardians can access each classroom’s webcams to closely monitor their child.

The library at the school is fully equipped with multimedia tools and the technology lab allows students to fully utilize the lab for educational purposes as well as checking grades online. The campus also provides a science lab and an art studio as well. Each facility and equipment offered at the school is specifically designed according to strict IB regulations.

In 2010, there were three students who achieved a full test score out of 45. In 2011, one student achieved a full test score on the IB curriculum and in 2012; two students achieved full scores in their IB curriculum as well.

Other Information

Students attending the last three years of high school at AIC will be prepared to pursue higher education after graduation. AIC is the only school in New Zealand to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma and it is the only school with the highest rate of IB Diplomas issued to students.

Students in Year 11 will be enrolled in a pre-preparation program for IB Diploma (Year 12 and Year 13) to effectively prepare them for university enrollment.

In 1992, Mount Albert Grammar School was founded as an all boys’ public school. However, the school changed its managerial structure into a coeducational school that began to accept female students into the school. Nelson College is established as New Zealand’s first state school, founded in 1856 at a spacious and picturesque location, surrounded by mountains, rivers and beaches.
